One of the most important ways you can maintain a healthy mouth is by seeing your dentist at least twice a year for regular checkups and cleanings. With the end of the year approaching, it’s a great time to visit the dentist. If you are a new patient or it’s been awhile since you visited a dentist, you may have questions about what to expect at your visit. Knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and make you feel more comfortable. At Cardinal Dental, it is our goal to provide a comfortable environment in which you can receive quality, affordable dental care. If you are wondering what to expect at your dental visit, here is some information to help you feel prepared.
What to Know About Your first visit to Cardinal Dental
When you come into Cardinal Dental, the first thing you’ll notice is our clean, comfortable waiting room and our friendly, welcoming staff. The Cardinal Dental staff will welcome you in for your appointment, and will clearly explain what services you are scheduled for that day. We’ll also go over the expected costs for treatment, and review your insurance coverage and payment options. We will always work with you to make sure you understand your treatment plan, the costs, and the method of payment.
Patient Forms
If you are a new patient to our office, we will need you to fill out some important new patient forms. Printing, filling them out in advance, and bringing them with you to your appointment will allow us to attend to your dental needs more quickly than completing them on your arrival. Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions about the forms.
X-Rays, Examination, and Cleaning
If x-rays are required our x-ray technician will take them and then seat you in an exam room. Once you are taken into the exam room for your visit, the dentist will ask about your recent medical history, review any x-rays, conduct a complete screening of your whole mouth, and discuss with you any issues that need to be addressed. The dental hygienist will then complete a thorough cleaning of your teeth, and depending on your individual needs, may use a special dental instrument to check your gums for gum disease.
Insurance
We are a preferred provider for most insurance companies and we accept a large variety of insurance plans. If you have questions about whether Cardinal Dental accepts your dental insurance, please call to inquire (619) 345-7999.
Financing
At Cardinal Dental we also offer a wide range of payment options as well as affordable dental care financing. Our staff is happy to assist you in finding the best option to suit you.
