Veneers
If you’re like most people, then you’ve probably dealt with dental issues at some point in your life. While that usually means having a few cavities filled or maybe a root canal, receiving veneers is also a common dental treatment. Over time, our teeth wear out, break down, and might even start to chip away. While these issues can lead to major dental issues, it can also make you self-conscious about your smile. Looking to boost your confidence and have that perfect smile you’ve always dreamed of? If so, then veneers might be for you!
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or composite resin that are applied to the teeth to correct smiles and improve oral health. Given that we consume sugary drinks, coffee, and various types of food that stain our teeth, our enamel can experience discoloration and other issues. Veneers are designed to look identical to natural teeth, so no one will even notice them! Veneers are made to fit over your existing teeth to provide the comfort you need while looking fantastic.

Why Choose Veneers?
Have you ever experienced a chipped tooth? Have you tried teeth whitening products only to see no results? If so, then veneers might be your solution! Veneers are used to fix chipped, discolored, or misshaped teeth. They can even be used to fix large gaps. Veneers have been used by millions of patients throughout the world and there are many benefits. For one, veneers are less intrusive than braces or other dental treatments. During the process, the patient will experience very little discomfort and the procedure is very fast and easy. Another great benefit of veneers is that that they are made with very strong material that is difficult to stain.
Porcelain Veneers

Although there are few different types of material used in veneers, porcelain is the most common due to its strength and resistance to discoloration. Furthermore, porcelain veneers can easily last 15 years or more. Porcelain veneers provide a great alternative to lengthy orthodontic solutions and many are blown away by the results.

How the Procedure Works
The procedure starts with a dose of local anesthesia if needed. From there, the dentist will clean the tooth and decide what color the veneer should be. A piece of enamel will then be removed in order to place the veneer correctly. If you’re receiving custom-made veneers, opposed to the prefabricated option, then an impression of the tooth will be made to be sent to a laboratory and a temporary veneer will be placed. Once the new veneer arrives, the temporary veneer will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and the permanent veneer will be applied using a special type of adhesive and cement. During the last step, the dentist will light cure the veneer for 60 seconds and then polish the margins.
